I spent 25 years in fashion as a textile engineer, senior production manager, and lecturer before building Patternalism. The question I kept returning to was why professional-grade pattern design wasn't more accessible to people who actually love to sew. At some point I stopped asking and started building the answer.

Patternalism is an independent digital pattern bureau. We are five industry professionals — designers, a patternmaker, and a systems builder — creating garments that meet ready-to-wear construction standards and are genuinely achievable at home. We work in small, carefully curated capsule collections: considered pieces, not constant volume.

Menswear designer and founder of his own label built around conscious consumption. Responsible for all men's garments in our collections.
Lena — Womenswear Designer
Fashion graduate with experience developing collections for established brands. Designs all women's garments at Patternalism.
Masha — Lead Patternmaker
Works with couture brands internationally. Translates every design into a pattern that holds up in construction.
Dasha — Digital Systems & CX
Builds the digital infrastructure behind Patternalism and owns the customer experience — making sure discovering and buying a pattern feels as considered as the pattern itself.
Who this is for
Our patterns are for makers who already have essential sewing skills and want to work at a higher level. Not absolute beginners, not industry professionals — the serious maker who wants garments that look like they came from a concept store, and the satisfaction of having made them.
