A godet skirt sewing pattern PDF in EU sizes 36–46 — flared panel construction, wide hem facing designed to be cut from a contrasting fabric or texture. We created this skirt for those who want to feel the lightness of silk but value clarity and character in their clothing. it is a beautiful balance between delicate softness and architectural precision.

Why this pattern will become your favorite:

  • A Blend of Two Worlds: Combining a flowing Godet silhouette with graphic details makes this skirt incredibly versatile. It can feel as relaxed as a piece of lingerie or as structured as a classic staple—it all depends on the fabric you choose and your current mood.
  • Your Creative Signature: The wide facing at the bottom of the skirt is your canvas. Make it contrast, use satin for a subtle glow, or finish it with delicate lace - it’s entirely up to your imagination. This detail doesn't just hold the shape of the hem; it transforms a simple skirt into a unique designer statement.
  • Simplicity in the Details: We know that sewing should be a pleasure, not a chore. That’s why we’ve simplified the waistband construction as much as possible, keeping the fit perfect and the process stress-free. You get a professional result without the unnecessary struggle.
  • Tested by Us: We don’t just create patterns - we invent the clothing we wear ourselves. We make them for our friends all around the world. This skirt lives alongside us: it dances, it walks, it works, and it creates a sense of ease. It’s a piece that gives you the freedom to be different every day. We do what we love - for ourselves and for you.

For this model, we recommend using soft, drapable fabrics of medium weight. The fabric should not be too thin, as it needs to hold the shape of the panels, but it must flow beautifully. A small amount of elastane in the composition will help achieve a perfect fit around the hips.

Recommended Materials:

  • Soft Suit Fabric: Choose blends (like wool with silk or viscose). They provide a sophisticated sheen and create heavy, elegant folds at the bottom of the skirt.
  • Cupro: A unique material that feels like silk but is denser and heavier. It drapes perfectly and creates a "fluid" silhouette.
  • Heavyweight Viscose: Great for creating a soft, feminine look. It is comfortable against the skin and falls into beautiful folds in the flared sections.
  • Crepe: A fabric with a textured surface that is mostly wrinkle-resistant and has excellent draping qualities.
  • Heavy Silk or Satin: For a more formal or evening look. A dense satin will highlight the sheen on the flared panels as you move.

Pro Tip: Avoid very stiff or "dry" fabrics (like heavy cotton or stiff linen), as they will stick out at the flared seams, and the skirt will lose its elegant movement. Also, make sure the fabric is not too sheer, or a lining may be required.
