SHIRT, PATTERN #0106

€35

A women's shirt sewing pattern PDF in EU sizes 36–46 — relaxed fit, standing collar with a fold-over leaf, front slit instead of a placket. The decorative topstitching down the front is structural: it replaces the button placket entirely, secured by a single button at the collar stand. A long, architectural silhouette with fewer construction steps than it appears.

We created this shirt for those who value clean lines and look for alternatives to the usual solutions. It is a modern classic, where the absence of extra details speaks louder than any decoration.

Why this pattern will become your favorite:

  • An Architectural Silhouette: The relaxed cut paired with a classic shoulder fit makes the look neat and polished. The main focus is the central seam and the front slit, which, along with the high standing collar, visually elongate the figure, adding a sense of lightness and graphic precision.
  • Design Without Buttons: We replaced the traditional front placket with decorative stitching that flows into an elegant slit. This choice makes the shirt minimalist and recognizable. A single button on the collar stand secures the shape, leaving the rest of the look feeling airy and free.
  • Technology for Everyone: Despite the visible complexity of the cut, we designed the pattern so that even a beginner can handle the sewing. We removed the difficult parts so you can enjoy the process and achieve a result that looks like it came from a premium studio.
  • Tested by Us: We don’t just create patterns- we invent the clothing we wear ourselves. We make them for our friends all around the world. This shirt lives alongside us: it’s equally comfortable for business meetings or relaxing in a favorite café. It fits perfectly into any wardrobe, bringing with it a sense of ease and confidence. We do what we love - for ourselves and for you.

For this model, we recommend using structured shirt fabrics that highlight the architectural shape of the collar and cuffs. While the design benefits from a firm structure, mid-weight flowing materials are also suitable if you prefer a softer, more feminine silhouette.

Recommended Materials:

  • Shirt Cotton (Poplin / Oxford): The ideal choice for clean, sharp lines. This fabric is easy to work with and holds the shape of the collar perfectly.
  • Mid-weight Linen: Creates a beautiful, natural texture. Choose a medium density to ensure the shirt looks structured rather than "limp."
  • Denim or Chambray: Lightweight denim gives the shirt a modern look and is very stable during the sewing process.
  • Mid-weight Viscose / Rayon: A great option if you want a more fluid and "draping" effect.
  • Baby Cord (Micro-corduroy): A soft but firm material that works well for highlighting the design details of the cut.

Pro Tip: Avoid very thin, easily deformed materials (like thin rayon challis) or fabrics that fray excessively. These can make it difficult to achieve a clean finish on the collar stand and sleeve plackets. If you choose a softer viscose, be sure to use high-quality interfacing for the collar and cuffs to keep them crisp.
